We don’t recommend this product for driveways – due to it’s varying depth not able to support vehicular traffic.
PAVING INSTALLATION
The area to be paved is dug out to the required depth – approximately 100mm – 200mm depending on the potential load bearing.
A semi-dry mix of 3 parts sharp sand : 2 parts building sand : 1 part cement is mixed and laid to the approximate required level.
It is then hand-screeded to the final level.
The paving is laid and consolidated using a rubber mallet to ease the slabs to the correct level. The paving normally consists of between 3 and 6 different sizes and is always laid following a pattern so as stagger the joints and leaving no straight joints (fig.1).
The joints between the paving are normally 10mm – 15mm and are pointed (filled) with either a resin jointing material or cement.
