BLOCK PAVING TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The area to be block paved is dug out to a minimum depth of 250mm, dependent on the type of ground (loose soil or clay) and the expected vehicular traffic (average cars or commercial vehicles).
The area is then filled with Quality Type 1 Stone to a depth of approximately 150mm. It is rolled until well consolidated.
Sharp sand is then laid and raked to a depth of a little more than 30mm. It is then screeded off to a depth of 25mm with a purpose made toll.
The blocks are laid 10mm higher than the required finished height. The blocks are then passed over using a purpose made machine and compacted to their final level.
Finally, we brush kiln-dried sand to fill the small joints between the blocks leaving you with quality block paved surface that will last for years!
